The Truth of the 1950’s Housewife

As a traditionally feminine woman who strives daily to perfect that stereotypical image of the 1950’s housewife, I have to deal with a lot of different things. Unfortunately, one of those things includes a large number of people regularly degrading my favorite decade at every conceivable turn- especially when it comes to my interest in trying to emulate that. My New Workout Routine

With my Husband’s Police Testing coming up the day before my Birthday in June, I want to start working out again alongside him in order to help encourage him to train for the physical test. Over the last few months I have been putting effort into eating better and being a bit more active, so this seems like the perfect time to take the next step. An Overview of My Old Diet

When people find out that I spent 3 years losing 70+ pounds, despite the fact that I’ve put most of that back on many people want to know what I did. The answer is a simple one, but one most don’t often want to hear: I worked out 5 days a week and ate well.

Healthy Meal Ideas

When people find out that I spent 3 years losing 70+ pounds, despite the fact that I’ve put most of that back on many people want to know what I did. The answer is a simple one, but one most don’t often want to hear: I worked out 5 days a week and ate well.

Since I shared my old Fitness routine, I figured I would also share some common meals I ate during that same time frame. Continue reading “Healthy Meal Ideas”

My Old Workout Routine

When people find out that I spent 3 years losing 70+ pounds, despite the fact that I’ve put most of that back on many people want to know what I did. The answer is a simple one, but one most don’t often want to hear: I worked out 5 days a week and ate well.

I thought sharing my old routine may be helpful to others looking to do the same. Please keep in mind, however, that this was my workout routine at the absolute peak of my fitness. It is not a routine that a beginner is likely going to be capable of doing right out the door. If you take anything from this old routine of mine, let it be my absolute love and recommendation of the P90X series; even if you can’t do more than 15 minutes of any given video (like I couldn’t when I first started), it will be worth it. Choosing My Lipsticks

Some of the most visible makeup trends in history usually involve lipstick; whether it’s the small heart shaped lipstick stencil of the 20’s, or the raging Red lipstick of the 50’s, it’s often the lipsticks that are the most memorable and become the icon of an era in many cases… And I can see why. I fully believe that a Lipstick can make or break a look- more so than any other element of makeup. Because of that, I tend to choose my lipsticks very carefully. Redesigning Your Wardrobe Part 2; Tackling Your Closet

Once you’ve gone through the basics to give you a rough idea of what you are looking for to start your wardrobe, where do you go next? The obvious answer is straight to your closet, of course!

Please be aware, though, that like with everything else on my blog this is my own experience and opinion. Some tips might not be applicable to your own style (once you find it), or budget, and that is fine. Hopefully, however, this will help to give you a rough idea of what you need or want to do to get your wardrobe fully changed over to your dream Vintage one!
